Responding to concerns expressed in Sleaford about the state of the vegetation by the river in the top pound the strimming team went into action once again.
The first task was to check to see if there were any nesting birds in the area, this was not an easy task bearing in mind the length and density of the undergrowth. In the space of about two hours the whole of one bank was strimmed from the lift bridge to within about 150m of Cogglesford Lock before time ran out. Hopefully the remainder will be finished in September.
There seemed to be a lot of appreciation from people passing by for our work especially when they found out we were volunteers and not council workers.
